Many school districts while investing millions on their stadiums only budget around $350 annually for their school clinical equipment.

There are 2 ways for Lions to get involved

The first is for the Lions to fund raise and purchase a vision screener for their school district.
The second is for clubs that want to be more actively involved. Clubs that have their own screener can go into the schools and perform the vision screenings themselves.
Vision and hearing screenings have to be done every year and school nurses are on a time crunch to get them all done on time.

For those of you that wish to go the second route, you might want to talk to:

Holly Rutherford-Allen, the Executive Director of the Colorado Lions
KidSight Program
720-325-7078
The Colorado Lions clubs have been performing this service for their schools for several years now. Holly as allowed me to attach a copy of their Memorandum of Understanding document (see attachment) which serves as the agreement between the school and the Lion’s club. This is worth looking at. Contact Holly for more information on how to approach schools.
